Mojo Mojo Finding My Mojo

This year’s ambition was to reconnect with my painterly creative self after 3 years of learning and perfecting the art of glass fusing. Boy have I acheive so much more thanks to the universe aligning moi with Tracy Verdugo’s Paint Mojo book. Little did I know where this wonderful book would take me. Full of inspiring tips and easy to follow instructions on how to find your mixed media creative voice this treasured book has become an invaluable studio tool devoured by students and myself alike.

Symbols

Love developing my own catalog of symbols

On a last minute whim in the cold dark month of Feburary I enrolled in Tracy’ Verdugo’s 6 week on line Mojo course. What a happy bright light Tracy’s Mojo Ecourse was, saving my sanity from the long dark Swedish Winter and late Spring start. I have never looked back, gaining so much insight, valuable knowledge, and new techniques. Packed full of instructional learning, super easy to follow videos, an abundance of inspiration and tips. I have learned to embrace my mistakes and my inner childish abandonment has been awakened.

There is no stress or rush to complete the Mojo Ecourse in the 6 weeks as one has access for a whole year. Having only made it to week 5 six months into the Ecourse there are mojo creatives posting their progress and work every day on the naturing mojo ecourse facebook group. This group of like minded individuals from all over this glorious globe have been wonderfully supportive and encouraging. I have learned much from the helpful tips and questions posted in the group and made new cyber friends.

The learnings from Paint Mojo the Ecourse give me the confidence to produce a new body of work to exhibit in August along side my glass art and acrylic monoprint collages.

New Beginnings

‘New Beginnings’ Mixed Media 34x34cm SOLD

Joy of joys along with glass work one of my new paintings sold and the title ‘New Beginnings’  is very synonymous with my artful journey this year.

On a recent trip to Ireland I was rocked to discover the ancient connection with some of symbols I had been using for over 6 months. During an impromptu first ever visit to the little known megalithic Loughcrew Cairn I was floored to see drawing dating back to 4000BC similar to the symbols I had been using. My universe was indeed aligned perfectly for Paint Mojo, I am in the right place doing what I am meant to do, Yipeee!

August finished with a bang meeting Tracy Verdugo in person during her Paint Mojo Stockholm workshop. This workshop was made possible by the amazingly talented artist Jenny Grant and one could not ask for a more inspiring venue than the remarkable Edsvik Konsthall

With a Chagall exhibation on site, Weather gods on our side and surrounded by glorious nature nestled by the Boltic sea 20 mojo entheusasits were not short of finding symbols to kickstart the Mojo workshop.

Happy accidents and little pieces of magic are sought out on your canvas using chalk before defining with ink/paint to make your found images pop.

Tracy’s instills a brave intuitive process, guiding you to trust and not get attached to what is happening on the canvas as layer upon layer evolves. When guidance is sought Tracy’s gentle coaxing of your own instincts ensures ownership over your creative process.

I meet the most incredible like minded artists, especially my evening buddies Mette, Heidi, Valérie, Sigga and Eva and will forever be connected to these wonderful creative women. Heartfelt gratitude to treasured friend Zsuzsanna for sacrificing her weekend to explore mojo with me.
