Balancing Dreams With Creativity

The untold pleasure of delivering my in-person art foundation course to countless budding artists over the past 7 years and the joy of introducing them to the benefits of art has driven a dream. That dream is finally being realised this Summer as I dive deep into developing a signature art foundation E-Course for the wider world. I am so excited the journey has just began and the road is long but I am mindful of feeding my own creativity.

I’m a big advocate for on-line courses and the wonderful opportunities they offer everyone form all walks of life with diverse interests. My first online experience was over 10 years ago with the Interactive Design Institute IDI. They were revolutionary at the time and the first to offer accredited art qualifications but with the inevitable advances in technology much has changed in terms of innovation and on-line offerings. In recent years I have taken many more on-line courses helping me develop and thrive as artist and instructor check out my previous ravings Here  and Here. At present I am taking the E-Course Creation Masterclass from Beth Kempton author and mastermind behind  Do What You Love For Life . This course has been an invaluable tool in making my dream a reality and I can wait to release this dream to the world in 2018.

Summer has been productive with writing and refining course content, flow, layout, developing virtual classrooms, scripts, filming and editing. My creativity has exploded into overdrive but there has been a faint inkling that something was off balance and I always listen to my intuition. Taking some time out to ground itself and find stillness I discovered my daily intuitive practice has wilted and requires some TLC (tender loving care). Turing to my “go to” platform Instagram for inspiration to find an exercise that will feed my muse I discovered lisa_deyoung  Doodle Days Musings Adventure

This is a free quick easy daily doodle exercise to cultivate your creative practice starting July 30th. I love doodles they are a sure fire short cut into ones subconscious where all the fun and magic happens. To ensure I stay accountable and show up daily I would love you to join me for this free daily adventure so we can nourish our creative muses together.

Would love to hear your thoughts and do let me know when you sign up by leaving a comment below.

  1. We are so lucky to live in a time when it is possible to get so much inspiration, teaching and learning online. So many people would not have the opportunity to broaden their horizons without this format. Count me in as one who loves online learning. It’s easy to find a challenge to fill any month as there are so many great groups out there now. My biggest problem is knowing when to stop! In fact, this month I have had to step back and refrain so that I could focus on my own vision. Funny how we need to balance these elements of our creative life. This post inspired me to think about what balance could look like for me.

    1. Dearest Lynda,
Hear you on all the wonderful on-line offerings I also battle with taking on to many on-line projects and struggle with finding the balance for pure me. Lovely to connect with you and look forward to staying in touch.

  2. Dearest Pat,
I am truly speechless with your heartwarming kindness and have been blessed to guide you towards your inner artistic spirit. My students always inspire me to deliver the best possible learning experience for the individual, my greatest source of joy is seeing them blossom into confident and independent artists. Thank-you for making me accountable day 1 and I am slicking, lets doodle

    Hello Ciara,
Wishing you the best of luck with your online classes. I, too, am a great believer in the online courses thanks to you. I have learned so much in such a short amount of time. I remain truly inspired by your ability encourage others to foster their inner artistic spirit. When I first started working with you I had doubts I could even doodle circles. With your constant encouragement and mentoring I, now, can find no limits to what I can learn to do. I no longer fear the blank canvas. I am looking forward to doodling with you online!
